Almond Crescents

Ingredients
- 1/2 Pound Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- Confectioners Sugar, for shaking
- 5 Tablespoons Confectioners Sugar
- 2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 Pound Almonds, ground
- Sift the flour and salt Chill at least 2 hours
Instructions
In a mixer, cream the butter and 5 tablespoons of sugar. Add the egg and beat well. together and add slowly to the creamed mixture. Add the almonds and mix in well. or overnight. Roll as small crescents or half moons. Because they tend to be brittle when baked, we also rolled them as small sticks. They did not break as much. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes or until golden. Watch them carefully. Roll in confectioners sugar while still hot or shake in a small paper bag in the sugar.
