Fire Dry Nuts
Ingredients
- 2 Cup Walnut or Pecan Halves
- 1/2 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 2 Teaspoons Peanut Oil
- 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
Instructions
Put nuts in a heat-proof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Let set for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry. Put on cookie sheet lined with triple thickness of paper towels. Bake in a 300 degree oven for 30 minutes. Turn them and lower oven to 250 degrees. Bake for 10 minutes. Put oil in a wok at moderate heat. Stir the nuts in the oil and lower heat. Stir salt and sugar in, 1 tablespoon at a time. Cook until the sugar is completely melted. Drain on paper towels.
